You Can Use Gemini 4 Argon Now: Google’s New AI Is Built for Coding, Math and Robotics

When Google DeepMind announced Gemini 4 Argon a few weeks ago, the lab said it would be limiting initial access to the new AI model to cybersecurity defenders. Now it’s loosening the reins and letting paying subscribers get their hands on the new Gemini.

Gemini 4 Argon is available globally for enterprises and for Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers in the Gemini app. It’s also available in Android Studio, Google AI Studio and the agentic developer platform Google Antigravity.

Take note of the introductory pricing. Access begins at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, but that rises to $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens after Nov. 30.

Google says that it has used Gemini 4 internally to help with software engineering, cybersecurity and research. In a blog post , the company says Gemini 4 has been used to optimize Python codebases, identify and patch cybersecurity holes and make its open Gemma AI models three times quicker at tasks.

The AI also played a role in developing physical AI, like Google’s robotics research , helping ground a humanoid device in the real world’s physics and understand its surroundings.

It seems like Google is trying to market Gemini 4 as a hard-core, serious companion for STEM workers. We’re far away from the days of Nano Banana — Google’s AI image generator that blew its competition out of the water and enraged creators. Now Google is focusing on both practical and abstract applications of AI for math and science, like robotics and nuclear fusion research.

It’s part of a bigger trend we’ve seen across the AI industry. As criticism of AI and the companies building it mounts — from the anger over data center construction to the questions raised by AI agents making unwanted incursions — Big Tech leaders have pivoted to speak about AI’s ability to cure cancer, for example.

Gemini 4 Argon competes with frontier models like OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra and Meta’s new Muse Wonder. Google had the edge among AI companies for most of 2025, but advancements from other labs left it mostly behind for this year. Also throughout the past year, concerns about AI safety have risen significantly, particularly around “AI doomsday” scenarios.

Google says that it engaged with the White House’s voluntary review process — which the public has no insight into —for new models and that Gemini 4 passed inspection on its safety framework. Only time will tell if Google’s precautions are enough to prevent myriad AI-powered harms.
