This $499 M1 MacBook Air Deal Puts All Those Cyber Monday Deals to Shame

There were plenty of laptop deals during the Cyber Monday sales extravaganza, but you don’t need to be sad if you missed out. Walmart is now offering an M1 MacBook Air deal that is the perfect Cyber Monday hangover antidote — but we don’t expect it to last for long.

If you’re quick, Walmart will sell you the iconic M1 MacBook Air for the mind-bogglingly low price of just $499. That’s $150 off the usual asking price, and you even get to choose between space gray and silver. Even better, you’ll get a raft of Apple services thrown in for free.

While it’s true that this isn’t the latest MacBook Air, it’s still a bargain at a price that would otherwise leave you with a lackluster Windows laptop or a Chromebook.

This particular model comes with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD that would ideally accommodate normal web usage, streaming, and writing and editing. With the M1 chip being not only powerful but also efficient for everyday use, Apple will conveniently support your MacBook for 7–8 years, meaning you will have many OS update cycles.

If you don’t mind spending more, the M2 MacBook Air is a faster, newer machine and Best Buy has it for $699 right now. But $699 is still a lot more than $499, and the M1 model still has a lot to give.

The M3 MacBook Air, which was launched in 2023, is still priced well above $1,000. The M4 MacBook Air, which is Apple’s newest ultraportable, starts at $999, though we did see it discounted to $749 during Cyber Monday. And the rumored A‑Series MacBook — a laptop that isn’t even expected to debut until 2026 (assuming it ever does) — is meant to be a budget‑friendly option powered by an iPhone‑class chip, and likely priced between $700 and $900.

The $499 M1 Air, then, is not just cheaper than the M2 and M4 models but almost certainly will also undercut Apple’s rumored entry‑level A‑series MacBook by several hundred dollars.

    Why this deal matters

It isn’t often that the MacBook Air sees a drop in price, making this discounted machine a nearly unbeatable deal if you’re just looking for the basics and want an affordable Mac. For less than $500, you no longer do you have to purchase Windows or a Chromebook if you want a macOS laptop. This is a last‑chance holiday deal that is hard to beat.

So really, with all that said, there’s only one decision left — which color are you going to choose?
