Wyze Launches Its First Window-Mounted Security Camera

Keeping an eye on the street just got a whole lot easier with the new Wyze Window Cam: It provides all the benefits of an exterior security camera while latching on to the inside of your windows.

Ease of installation seems to drive the entire design ethos of the Window Cam. You don’t need ladders or drills to get this camera ready for use. A nylon fastener mount sticks the Window Cam directly to your window, eliminating glare from the picture.

The Window Cam has 1080p HD resolution with color night vision capabilities. Other features from existing Wyze security cameras are also available with the Window Cam. If you purchase a microSD card, the camera supports continuous local recording of up to 512 gigabytes of footage. Cloud storage is available to anyone who is paying for a Wyze subscription plan.

The Window Cam also includes video livestreaming with two-way audio, AI-powered motion detection, a timelapse mode that allows you to quickly sift through large quantities of footage, and smart home compatibility that allows linking with Alexa, Google Assistant and other Wyze devices.

Previous Wyze cameras have also had window-mounting capabilities, but getting them set up required extra time, labor and cash. Wyze Window Mounts cost an extra $10 each and are primarily compatible with Wyze Cam v3, v3 Pro and v4 security cameras.

The new Wyze Window Cam has a mount integrated into its design, which means that you can set it and forget it on your chosen window. If you ever want to move the Window Cam around, its 10-foot-long MicroUSB cable and cable clips make repositioning a simple prospect. Other Wyze product combinations ask you to put in a little more work to get them up and running, so the Wyze Window Cam seemingly exists to offer a more user-friendly experience.

The Wyze Window Cam is available now for $35 on the Wyze website. A two-pack costs $60.
