The Switch 2 is finally here, and like many of you, I am as excited as can be. I know a lot of people have preordered and more are lining up to buy one in stores, but in the hustle and bustle of getting the console itself, you don’t want to overlook the need for accessories for your new device. We know the Switch 2 has a cool USB-C camera, but standard accessories like cases and screen protectors may have flown under the radar.
I’ve spent some time finding as many Switch 2 accessories as I can, and while CNET has not had a chance to review them, they are all available for you to pick up for your new console sooner rather than later.

Switch 2 charging accessories
This charging dock will work for the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as older models like the Switch 1, the Switch OLED and the Switch Lite. Note that there is no cable included with this charging dock, so you’ll have to buy a USB-C cable if you don’t already have an extra one at home.
Switch 2 screen protectors
After splurging on the new Switch 2, the last thing you want to do is crack the screen. That’s why you’ll want to invest in a good screen protector. This tempered-glass screen protector has an ultrahigh 9H hardness rating and can protect your screen if you drop your Switch. It comes with an auto-alignment kit for easy installation.
It’s always a good idea to have an extra screen protector on hand. This affordable pack of three ensures you’ll have backups. The Jsaux screen protectors are made with tempered glass and come with a guiding frame for easy installation. Be sure to click the on-page coupon to save 24%.
Spigen is known for its durable yet affordable cases, having earned spots on our lists of the top iPhone 16 cases and the best Samsung Galaxy S22 cases, but the brand also makes sturdy screen protectors. The Switch 2 screen protectors from Spigen have a 9H hardness rating and fingerprint and oil resistance, and they come with an auto-alignment kit.
Switch 2 controller accessories
These Joy-Con adapters for the Switch 2 provide an ergonomic, mouselike grip for better precision and comfort while playing shooting games like Splatoon 3, Fortnite and Overwatch. Just slip your Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers into the adapter’s lightweight, durable frame and start playing.
More top Switch 2 accessories
The Nintendo Switch 2 requires a specific kind of microSD card, so they aren’t as easy to find. GameStop has its own branded version, which is still in stock and easy to order. 256GB is a good size card that should double the amount of storage you have available.
Plug this camera into the USC-C port on the Switch 2 to video chat with friends while playing or to use other in-game camera features. The compact camera features a wide-angle lens with a high-sensitivity image sensor to capture a wide, clear picture and automatically adjust the brightness when it detects faces.
While buying all new accessories for your new Switch 2 is a good idea, some of your Switch 1 accessories will still work with the Switch 2, so you may want to see what you already have to help reduce the cost. The Joy-Cons will still work, though they won’t clip to the console and the Switch Pro Controller will as well, though the new one will work better, of course.
