If you’ve ever played video games on your laptop, I’m sure you wished for a bigger display. I know I certainly have: 16 inches of screen real estate sometimes makes it hard to see enemies in the games I like to play.
The good news is that Lenovo unveiled a new gaming laptop concept at CES 2026 that might just provide the solution to our collective woes.
The Legion Pro Rollable uses Lenovo’s motor-based technology to create a mobile computer with a horizontally expandable screen. Lenovo integrated this technology into other laptops in the past, like the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable and this year’s ThinkPad Rollable XD concept — but this is the first time that the screen goes «outward» instead of «upward.»
This rollable laptop will be built with Lenovo’s in-house PureSight OLED display technology, providing dependable color and contrast for any AAA gaming experience.
It has three separate screen modes, allowing people to tailor their display size based on their current needs. The Legion Pro Rollable starts out with a 16-inch display, but it can expand to 21.5 or 24 inches wide, depending on how much space you’re working with.
The chassis uses a dual-motor, tension-based design to expand and contract the screen. Lenovo is using low-friction materials to protect the OLED panel from abrasion during the rolling cycles.
This laptop is ostensibly designed for esports professionals, allowing these power players to bring a competitive screen with them for practice while traveling during a season. But being able to tote around this much screen space could be an absolute game-changer for every diehard gaming enthusiast. I imagine the extra vision would provide a huge advantage in first-person shooters or high-stakes extraction games like ARC Raiders.
Internally, the current concept iteration is based on the Legion Pro 7i, housing top-of-the-line Intel Core Ultra CPUs and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. It’s unclear what specs a consumer-ready Legion Pro Rollable would contain, but this should give us a ballpark idea of what the inside of that computer might look like.
The Legion Pro Rollable concept isn’t the only piece of gaming tech that Lenovo rolled out at CES 2026. The company showed off its new Legion Go handheld gaming PC, its versatile Legion 7a laptop and other new entries into the Legion 5 and Legion LOQ series.
