Apple rolled out iOS 26.6.1 on Monday, August 17, roughly a month ahead of the anticipated public launch of iOS 27. This update delivers more than 20 bug fixes and security patches, among them a fix for an iCloud Private Relay flaw that could leak a user’s IP address even when the feature is active.
To install iOS 26.6.1, navigate to Settings, tap General, choose Software Update, press Update Now, and follow the on‑screen instructions.
The update’s CVE list shows that iOS 26.6.1 resolves several problems that could lead to unexpected system crashes, so updating promptly is preferable to waiting for iOS 27.
