Yesterday’s «awe dropping» Apple event revealed the iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone Air, a slimmer version of the phone, as well as the base iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro and the top-of-the-line iPhone 17 Pro Max. The event also saw exciting announcements like the Apple Watch Series 11, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and the AirPods Pro 3.
The iPhone 17 comes in a variety of styles and prices, which we’ve covered below. But as with all Apple gear, these phones are pretty pricey. Preorder the iPhone 17
You can preorder the new iPhone 17 at Apple starting Friday, Sept. 12. Plus, if you have an older device to trade in, you can get between $40 and $700 in trade-in credit when you trade in an iPhone 13 Pro or newer. You’ll also get 3% cash back if you purchase with your Apple Card.* Plus, Apple partners with carriers like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Boost Mobile, which offer an enhanced trade-in credit of up to $999 if you’re looking for a service plan.
Apple is offering up to $830 off a new iPhone 17 when you trade in an eligible iPhone. The savings are made via 36 monthly credits on your bill.
It won’t be long before Visible customers can get their hands on an iPhone 17 in the color of their choosing. Currently stated as «coming soon» Visible has the iPhone available as one lump payment or via monthly installments that start at $23.
Though T-Mobile does not yet have a preorder link on the site, they’ve got an enticing offer that might be worth waiting until the 12th. Switch to T-Mobile and add a line on one of the Experience plans, and you’ll get an iPhone 17 for free, no trade-in required.
This will be applied as bill credits over a 24 month period. Canceling prior to this will result in you owing any unpaid balance.
Verizon hasn’t confirmed its preorder deals for the iPhone 17, but we should learn more soon.
Preorder the iPhone Air
If you’re looking for the thinnest iPhone, preorders for the new iPhone Air start Friday, Sept. 12. If you have an older device to trade in, you can get between $40 and $700 in trade-in credit. You’ll also get 3% cash back if you purchase with your Apple Card.* Apple also partners with carriers like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Boost Mobile, which offer an enhanced trade-in credit of up to $1,100 if you’re looking for a service plan.
AT&T is offering up to $840 off the new iPhone Air when you trade in an old iPhone and take out an eligible plan.
Verizon hasn’t confirmed which offers will be available on the iPhone Air just yet, but we expect to learn more soon.
You can save on your iPhone Air when buying from Visible by trading in your old device. The amount you save will depend on which phone you trade in as well as its condition.

Boost Mobile is inviting customers to enter their email to be notified of the preorder date for the iPhone 17 Pro.
Verizon will start taking preorders for the new iPhones on Sept. 12, but it hasn’t confirmed what deals it will offer just yet.

When does the iPhone 17 series launch?
The iPhone 17 series was announced yesterday, Sept. 9. You can preorder your new iPhone from the Apple Store, or from select retailers and carriers starting this Friday, Sept. 12. The phones will ship on the official launch date, Sept. 19.

The iPhone 17 comes with a new A19 chip, while the 17 Pro and 17 Air get an A19 Pro chip. There is a storage bump as well, up to a starting 256GB. That’s double the base 128GB we saw in the previous iPhone 16.Another exciting change coming with this series is iOS 26 and its minimalistic Liquid Glass feature, which should be released shortly after the event. But don’t fret if you’re not a fan of the new interface — light and dark mode UIs will still be available if you prefer.

How do I preorder the iPhone 17?
You can preorder the iPhone 17 series at select online retailers and carriers starting Sept. 12 at 8 a.m. ET (5 a.m. PT). We’ve listed preorder links above and will continue to update this page as more offers drop.
First, decide which model iPhone you want to buy: iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max. Then, select your preferred color and storage capacity. You also need to decide if you’ll trade in an older iPhone, which could get you up to $700 back from Apple, or more with select carrier deals.
Once you make those decisions, you’ll need to choose an optional carrier and AppleCare Plus coverage (or forgo it) and click the blue Add to Bag button. You can then include any accessories you want and enter your payment information to complete your purchase. These options will open Sept. 12.
How do iPhone 17 trade-in offers work?
There are multiple carriers offering trade-in savings through Apple, some valued at up to $1,100 on eligible trade-ins, which could net you a free iPhone 17 Pro.
Not a fan of contracts? Some retailers also offer trade-in programs, which could offer gift cards toward future purchases instead. This can be a great way to take advantage of savings without necessarily being locked into a contract. Retail offers may not provide as much of a deal as traditional trade-in offers from carriers, though, so keep that in mind as you shop and more offers come online.
