If You’re a Fan of Eddie From Stranger Things, This Dungeons & Dragons Game Box Is Your Love Letter. It’s Also on Sale Today

While the rest of the world waits for Nov. 26 to learn what becomes of the rest of the Hellfire Club in the final season of Stranger Things, Dungeons & Dragons fans can answer part of that question now with a new game box.

Welcome to Hellfire Club allows players to continue the game being played in Season 5, right down to the notes and postcards Eddie left for Dustin as he takes up the mantle of Dungeon Master following Eddie’s «graduation.» And if you grab this box today, not only will you be able to play through what remains of the campaign before the final season starts but you’ll also take 10% off the launch-day price.

As the name suggests, Welcome to Hellfire Club brings the campaign played by the characters in Stranger Things Season 5 to life. Inside the Starter Set, you’ll find everything you need to run the game, including maps for the Greyhawkins world Eddie built in the show and the campaign books he built around that world. There are five classic character sheets for Will the Wise, Sundar the Bold, Lady Applejack, Tayr the Paladin and Nog the Dwarf, complete with artwork and spell cards for those who use them.

The real gems of this set, in my opinion, lie in the artwork. From the DM screen featuring Eddie himself to the hand-drawn-looking tokens and posters and even the monster tokens to put on the two beautiful maps, it all comes together to make you feel like you’re sitting in Hawkins with your friends, ready to play this game. And if you’re not sure you’ve played enough D&D to enjoy this experience, the included quick-start guide will get you where you need to be.

If you’re a fan of Stranger Things and you’re even a little bit curious about playing this game, you won’t find a better entry than this kit. Welcome to Hellfire Club is a massive upgrade from the now-retired Starter Set released alongside the first season of the show. The artwork alone, especially the notes left by Eddie, is enough to justify the newly discounted price. If you happen to have a few friends to play with, however, you’re going to get way more than your money’s worth.

    Why this deal matters

Despite being available now for fewer than 30 days, Welcome to Hellfire Club is now discounted below the savings available to those who preordered this Starter Set. This Dungeons & Dragons kit is now the same price as the new Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set, which aims to teach players the new 2024 rule set with ease. While you certainly could go with that version, if you’re a Stranger Things fan you’ll quickly find that this Hellfire Club kit is equal parts collector’s item and game, which is a lot more fun to own.
