Acer Has Some Massive Gaming Laptops and Desktops Coming This Fall

In the world of gaming PCs, Acer is perhaps better known for its more budget-friendly Nitro options, while its Predator brand is overshadowed by Alienware, Razer, Omen and others. That said, with every new generation, its gaming systems get easier to recommend over the competition, and that includes its latest batch of gaming laptops and desktops announced at IFA 2025 in Berlin on Wednesday.

Desktops

At the top of line for Predator gaming desktops is the Orion 7000. Judging by what Acer is packing into this big, black tower, there will be plenty of performance for both gaming and AI workflows:

The Predator Orion 5000 is a slightly smaller and less expensive option that should still satisfy more budget-conscious hard-core gamers.

For the AMD crowd, the AcerNitro 70 comes with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor and up to Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU. The Nitro 50offers up to an AMD Ryzen 7 8700G processor and RTX 5080 GPU. The Nitro N50 N50-100 and Nitro 70 N70X3D-100 models will not be coming to North America, though.

Laptops

At the top of Acer’s gaming laptops is the new Predator Helios 18P AI, which Acer says offers «desktop-level AI computing» in a massive 7.7-pound, 18-inch laptop.

It arrives in North America later in 2025, and while Acer hasn’t announced pricing yet, rest assured it will cost a pretty penny.

The Nitro V 16 laptop, with a slightly less impressive spec sheet but a much more affordable price tag of $999, is also coming.

The remaining specs for the V 16 have yet to be announced, but we do know it has a 16-inch, 2,560×1,600-pixel display with a 180Hz refresh rate. The Nitro V 16S is designed to be a bit more portable, but it still packs the same Core Ultra 9 270H processor and RTX 5070 laptop GPU in a slim metal chassis that’s only 19.9 millimeters thick. That slimness will cost an extra $100 when it arrives in North America later in 2025, starting at $1,099.
