If you’re an iPhone owner who’s been considering a new smartwatch, the prices of Apple’s top-tier Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra might be enough to put you off. But you don’t have to spend $400 and up for a modern smartwatch with the inexpensive Apple Watch SE in Apple’s lineup, and right now you can snag one at an all-time low price of just $219 at Amazon and Best Buy.
The second-gen Apple Watch SE is already designed to be an affordable alternative to Apple’s flagship watches, but today’s price makes it an ideal entry point to the WatchOS ecosystem. The device has many of the same features as its pricier siblings, including wrist-based notifications and calls, workout tracking, heart-rate monitoring and sleep tracking. It also works with Apple Pay for convenient contactless payments.
The device lacks some premium features, like an always-on display or the ability to take an ECG, but the Apple Watch SE is still the best value smartwatch from Apple. It would be a solid upgrade for anyone still rocking a Series 3 (or older), with a larger display and much speedier processor.
