Where to watch
- The World Baseball Classic 2026 will stream in the US on Fox Sports.
The sixth edition of the World Baseball Classic is heading into the quarterfinals. The United States is looking to bounce back from a shock defeat as the team takes on Canada in a mouthwatering last-eight showdown on Friday.
Team USA was left stunned after crashing to an 8-6 loss to Italy on Tuesday and had to rely on Italy defeating Mexico to advance to this stage. Aaron Judge and company must now dust themselves off as they face their near neighbors at Daikin Park in Houston for a place in the semifinals.
Ahead of that clash, the quarterfinals kick off on Friday with an intriguing matchup between South Korea and the unbeaten Dominican Republic, while Europe’s last remaining team, Italy, makes only its second-ever appearance in the tournament’s quarterfinals, facing Puerto Rico.
Rounding things off for the quarterfinals on Saturday is a first WBC meeting between defending champs Japan and a Venezuela team looking to rebound after their Pool D defeat on Thursday to Latin rivals Dominican Republic.
